John Truelson – President / DO
From sketching jetliners as a child to flying combat missions in the B-1 Bomber, John Truelson’s journey in aviation has been anything but ordinary. With an early passion for flight and a relentless drive to turn dreams into reality, John built Lone Star Aviators on a foundation of real-world experience, operational excellence, and a deep love for the skies.
After earning his wings as a Flight Instructor, John went on to serve in a wide range of aviation roles—commercial pilot, airline captain, corporate aviator, and freight operator—before joining the U.S. Air Force Reserves. There, he piloted the B-1 Bomber on missions around the globe, including a combat tour in the Middle East. This diverse background gave him the insight to recognize what worked, what didn’t, and how to build something better.
As the visionary behind Lone Star Aviators, John leads with innovation, integrity, and a spirit of service. His personal motto, “Why walk if you can fly?”, reflects not only his approach to aviation but also his approach to life. Whether he’s at the helm of a business jet or performing aerobatics in one of his personal aircraft, flying remains his greatest passion—and his greatest peace.

Robert Birchwell – Chief Pilot
Robert Birchwell serves as the Chief Pilot for Lone Star Aviators, bringing over 5,300 hours of flight experience and a strong foundation in both flight instruction and commercial operations. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and is a Certified Flight Instructor for single-engine, multi-engine, and instrument airplanes.
With a career spanning instructional leadership and Part 135 operational command, Robert has overseen pilot training, standardization, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe and efficient flight operations. His hands-on leadership, commitment to safety, and attention to detail set the tone for excellence across the flight department.
As a trusted aviation professional and mentor, Robert plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards and reliability that define Lone Star Aviators.

With over 15 years of proven success in B2B and B2C sales, leadership, negotiations, management, entrepreneurship, and logistics, Devin brings a dynamic and strategic approach to every opportunity.
